What is the difference between 4K UHD and 4K DCI?

4K UHD describes a resolution of 3840 x 2160, compared to a resolution of 4096 x 2160 for 4K-DCI. 4K DCI is commonly used in the film industry.

What is 16-bit color processing for?

Precisely detailed reproduction requires precisely calculated color and tone values. These cannot be reduced or distorted by calculation errors. In particular, darker portions of images need to be taken into account, since the output values in these areas lie so close to one another. EIZO relies on the highest degree of precision to avoid tonal breaks and bandings: The company has developed microchips that calculate tone values of up to 16 bits, which corresponds to a computational accuracy of up to 1/65,000th.

Is a special display port cable required to transmit 4K at 60 Hz?

No. In general, every good display port cable is capable of transmitting 4K at 60 Hz.

What does a 3D look-up table do?

Typical 1D look-up tables (LUTs) have separate tables for red, green and blue. Depending on the model, EIZO links the color allocation to a single, three-dimensional look-up table (3D LUT) to ensure particularly accurate color control and in doing so, allows for the exact addition of primary colors to any chosen color tone – vital technology for the ideal gray scale and ultra-precise color rendering.

What are the differences between the different ColorEdge ranges (CG and CS)?

What does wide gamut mean?

Wide gamut designates a color space that is considerably larger than the visible palette of conventional LCDs. Depending on the model, it covers up to 100% NTSC and 99% of the Adobe RGB color space. The colors of these monitors bring about a realistic image quality that was previously impossible in LCDs.

For what regions of the body and what methods or purpose is a RadiForce screen suitable in accordance with DIN 6868-157?

Depending on the body region / methods, different EIZO RadiForce screens are suitable for image display systems in accordance with DIN 6868-157. The EIZO RadiCS quality assurance software is divided into classes I to VIII. The following table shows a classification of suitable screens in this regard.

Note: An acceptance test is necessary for each image display system for an evaluation in accordance with DIN 6868-157.

What does the Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) do?

Homogeneous luminance distribution and good color purity are key to achieving very accurate image rendering. The Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) circuit takes care of this. It automatically corrects non-uniformities in terms of luminance and chrominance for all tone values across the entire image area – pixel by pixel.
