The software is offered in 41 different localizations and its free version successfully competes with paid anti-virus programs such as NOD32 or Norton AntiVirus. The name Avast according to Eduard Kučera, chairman of the board and managing director of AVAST Software, originated by combining “AntiVirus Advanced SeT”, because the original programme in 1988 was a tool comprised of many utilities. The programme is offered free for home and non-commercial use. Avast! antivirus is one of the most successful software solutions created in the Czech Republic.
Company co-owner and founder, Eduard Kučera holds the award for 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2013, AVAST received the award for best employer in the Best Employees of Czech Republic competition, organized by Aon Hewitt. Employees at the company rank among the most satisfied employers.
AVAST is working on EIZO
More than 250 EIZO LCD monitors were supplied to Avast programmers over the course of the last 3 years. About half of the lot are 24″ FORIS and EV models. The other half consists of 27″ SX2762 and EV2736W monitors.
EIZO LCD monitors traditionally come with quality LCD panels with a very pleasant anti-glare surface in combination with automatic brightness optimization and flicker-free technology, which allows users to work with the monitors for a longer period of time without any eyes fatigue.
Another favourable criterion is the affordable 27″ monitor with an ultra-high 2560×1440 resolution, which is becoming a popular standard for today’s programmers. No less important is the low consumption ensured by modern low energetic backlight systems (“white “-LED and “RGB-LED”) as well as the high reliability of EIZO monitors that come with a 5-year warranty.
